Toronto Man Arrested - Drugs Seized

A Toronto man was arrested following a North Bay Police Service (NBPS) Street Crime Unit (SCU) investigation into alleged drug trafficking at a Worthington Street residence, resulting in the seizure of methadone, cocaine, crack cocaine, and cash.
On September 10, 2025, at approximately 11:34 p.m., as a result of the investigation, members of the SCU arrested the accused. Officers had also observed the accused allegedly trafficking a controlled substance prior to the arrest.
The accused, Vachon Ward, 22-year-old, male, of Toronto, has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Opioid
- Two Counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
A subsequent search led to the seizure of:
- Six bottles of recently diverted methadone (labels scratched off, dispensed September 10, 2025)
- 143.1 grams of powder cocaine
- 3.7 grams of crack cocaine
- Two cell phones
- $960 in Canadian currency
The total estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $15,400.
“Our goal is clear: we are disrupting the flow of drugs into our community, cutting off the supply that leads to open-air drug use and threatens the safety of our streets,” said Inspector McFarlane, of the North Bay Police Service. “Investigations like this send a strong message that if you bring drugs into our community, we will find you and bring you to justice.”
The accused was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
