Trout Lake Road Roundabout Construction Expected to Begin June 29

The City of North Bay is advising that construction is set to begin Monday, June 29 on Trout Lake Road between Highway 11/17 and Kingsway Avenue, including preparation work for a new roundabout at Laurentian Avenue.

Initial work will focus on mobilization and site preparation, including clearing and brush removal, staging area setup, installation of traffic control signage, and utility pole relocations. Traffic impacts will be minimal during this phase, though equipment and material deliveries will be taking place.

Starting Monday, July 6, traffic control measures will be in place. Trout Lake Road will remain open with one lane in each direction. The north leg of Laurentian Avenue will be closed, and traffic will be detoured via Bank Street and McKay Avenue, while access to the south leg into the Northgate Shopping Centre will remain open. Temporary side-street closures may also be required, with access maintained where possible.

The project also includes reconstruction of the roadway, a multi-use path and concrete sidewalk, and the conversion of the Laurentian Avenue intersection to a roundabout.
