Mark your calendars. Watching curling is free in North Bay.

On the weekend of 15-17 Nov 2024, a 32 team bonspiel affectionately known as the Assante 101 Classic takes place at 2624 Trout Lake Rd, North Bay’s public curling facility. While many of the Club’s curlers will be competing, General Manager Laura Johnston attributes the fast ice conditions and excellent comraderie for increased interest from out of town teams. The GM says this Bonspiel is drawing a lot of fine teams from Sudbury, Huntsville Collingwood and further south as well as the nation’s Capital region.

If you have never walked into the North Bay Granite Club, this is your invitation. This Bonspiel is a Senior Open event, meaning any curler 50 years of age or older can participate and this event is open to Womens, Mens and Mixed teams. In its 17th year as major sponsor is Assante Wealth Management located at 101 McIntyre Street West. Last fall the event’s overall winner was Team Bruce Munro from Sudbury. Who will it be in 2024?
