TURCOTTE, BARBARA LOUISE (née Gallson)

The world feels quieter now. We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Barbara Louise Turcotte (née Gallson) on Friday March 6, 2026 at the age of 89. Born June 3, 1936, Barbara lived a life devoted to her family. Her selfless, caring and loving ways shone through in how she lived each day. Barbara enjoyed the simple things in life, cooking and baking, especially for others. She loved gardening and was always eager to share a tip or two.

Barb was the daughter of John and Mary Gallson and sister to Jean, Joan, Phillip, Jack, James, Hilda, Maise and Betty, all predeceased. She was the proud mother to Gail (Mike predeceased), Judy (predeceased), Lana (Norm), Debbie (Paul) Lisa (Randy) predeceased and Michael (Laura). Devoted grandmother to Pierre, Alex, Brodie, Adam (predeceased), Laura, Jason, Zachary and Grace. Loving great grandmother to Lily, Zoey, Théo, Guillaume and Timothy. She will be greatly missed and loved by all.

We would like to thank the Mattawa Hospital nursing staff, Dr. Redhead, all her Paramed PSW’s and VON nurses for all their care and compassion, going above and beyond to make a difference.
