Two Arrested After Robbery at Local Retailer
Multiple Outstanding Warrants Executed
The North Bay Police Service (NBPS) has arrested two individuals in connection with a robbery at a local retailer on February 4. The investigation also led to the execution of multiple outstanding warrants and additional charges.
The accused, Derek Dobratz, 35-year-old, male, of North Bay, has been charged with:
- Robbery with Violence
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Breach Conditional Sentence Order
- Four Counts of Theft Under $5,000 - Shoplifting
- Eight Counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The co-accused, Christa McCabe, 32-year-old, female, of North Bay, has been charged with:
- Robbery with Violence
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
On February 4, at approximately 11:00 a.m., NBPS responded to a report that the accused and co-accused had entered a retail business in the Josephine Street area, stole a number of items, and uttered threats before fleeing.
The co-accused was located and arrested in the Oakwood Avenue area. During the investigation, the accused was observed entering a residence on Oakwood Avenue, where officers established and maintained containment until a search warrant was obtained and executed.
At the time of the incident, the accused was wanted on two outstanding Warrants for four counts of Theft Under $5,000 and six counts of Fail to Comply with Probation, as well as a Warrant for Arrest for Breach of a Conditional Sentence Order.

The accused and co-accused were arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
