Two Arrested for Drug Trafficking in North Bay

The North Bay Police Service Street Crime Unit has arrested two individuals in connection with an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.
On July 31, 2025, at approximately 10:34 a.m., officers arrested the accused and co-accused without incident. The arrests were the result of an investigation that revealed they were actively trafficking controlled substances and travelling from the Greater Toronto Area to North Bay with illicit drugs intended for sale. During the investigation, both individuals were observed engaging in alleged illegal activities before being taken into custody.
Subsequent searches led to the seizure of the following items:
- $5,225 in Canadian currency
- Controlled substances with an estimated street value of $8,980, including:
- 27.5 grams of cocaine
- 36.1 grams of crystal methamphetamine
- 26.2 grams of crack cocaine
- 2021 GMC Sierra pickup truck
“We are committed to shutting down drug trafficking and ensuring the safety of our community,” said Acting Deputy Chief Warner. “Our Street Crime Unit showed dedication and persistence in making this arrest possible. We will continue to take action to protect our neighbourhoods.”
The accused in this incident is:
Theresa Schrader, 49-year-old, female, of Toronto, Ontario, who is charged with:
- Trafficking in a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
- Trafficking in a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine (Crystal Meth)
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The co-accused in this incident is:
Jesse John Grant, 37-year-old, male, of Mississauga, Ontario, who is charged with:
- Trafficking in a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
- Trafficking in a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine (Crystal Meth)
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
Both accused were released on an Undertaking and are scheduled to appear in court on September 16, 2025.
