Two motorcyclists injured in collision

By Brad Aubin

One person remains in hospital after a collision on Lakeshore Drive Sunday afternoon.

The North Bay Police Service says just after 1:00 p.m., first responders attended a three vehicle collission at the intersection of Lakeshore Dr. and Premier Rd.

Police say a 33-year-old was leaving a driveway and hit an 18-year-old driver of a motorcycle, which caused him to lose consciousness.

A second motorcycle, which was operated by another 18-year-old, had been moving in tandem with the first and was also involved and sustained minor injuries.

Both motorcyclists were transported to hospital, with the first remaining there. Police say his conditions improved from critical to stable.

The other was released from hospital care.

The driver of the SUV was charged with failing to yield from a driveway.
