Two people from Nipissing First-Nation facing drug charges

Anishinabek Police say officers seized suspected cocaine, cannabis and over 1,100 pills after a search of a residence in Garden Village, Nipissing on Sunday.

Two people, a 60-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man, from Nipissing First Nation face several charges including drug possession for purpose of trafficking.

Over $8,400 in money was also seized along with four phones and a tablet. Both of the accused have since been released on an undertaking.

Police say two other individuals that were taken into custody at the scene were subsequently released unconditionally.

This investigation is ongoing.
