NPSC Students Shine in 12th Annual Choir Festival

The pews of Holy Name of Jesus Church were filled to the brim on May 30, 2025, as the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board (NPSC) hosted its 17th annual Choir Festival: Faith Through Song. The church came alive with the harmonious voices of students and staff, as eight school choirs and the NPSC Staff Choir gathered in a vibrant celebration of faith, community, and music.

Emceed by the enthusiastic Kevin Oschefski from CFCH 90.5 FM Country, the festival showcased a beautiful blend of traditional Catholic hymns and contemporary pieces, performed in both English and French. Each choir brought its own unique energy, offering heartfelt renditions that moved the audience and filled the sacred space with joy and reverence.

A highlight of the morning was the collective performance of "Pilgrims of Hope,” a powerful anthem that echoed the message of the 2025 Jubilee Year of Hope, as proclaimed by Pope Francis, and aligned with this year’s Catholic Education Week theme. The unified voices of all participating choirs served as a poignant reminder of the strength and beauty found in community and shared faith.

Throughout the entire performance, the atmosphere was electric with support from family, friends, and community members, whose presence and applause added to the spirit of the celebration.

This annual festival continues to be a cherished tradition within the NPSC community, offering students a meaningful opportunity to express their faith through music and connect with one another in an uplifting environment.

We are exceedingly proud of our students for their dedicated practice and collaborative performances, and we are deeply grateful to our experienced and passionate staff for guiding them in their personal and academic expansion.
