FARMER, Jacqueline “Jackie” (nee-Desrochers)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Jackie Diane Farmer at the age of 53. Jackie passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, October 11th, 2024.
Loved and will be deeply missed by her childhood sweetheart and loving husband of 31 years, Aaron Farmer, her children Jon Farmer (Jessica Farmer) and Megan Farmer-Taillefer (Landon Taillefer) and her four grandchildren, the lights of her life, Paisley, Layla, Ellie and Bruce. Cherished daughter of Donat Desrochers and Yvette Desrochers (predeceased), sister to Catherine Cann (predeceased) (Dan Cann) and daughter-in-law to Linda Farmer and Bruce Farmer (predeceased). We know that she will continue to lovingly watch over and guide her family through this difficult time.
Jackie spent the last 30 years as a PSW at Nipissing Manor. She took great pride in her career and brightened the days of others with her great sense of humour. Jackie was known for playing funny pranks on coworkers and always had a smile on her face.
Jackie was raised in Bonfield, where she met her husband, Aaron. Together, they moved to Rutherglen and raised their children on the Farmer’s family farm. Later in life, they moved to Powassan, and soon after, Jackie became a mémère to four beautiful grandchildren. Being their mémère brought her so much joy and she did it all, from planning Christmas visits from Santa to special birthday shopping sprees. She was the best mémère that any child could have ever asked for.
Jackie will be deeply missed by all those who were lucky enough to have known her.
Family will be receiving guests at Whispering Pines Funeral Home (Powassan) on Saturday, October 19, 2024, between the hours of 11:00am-1:00pm with a memorial service to follow in the funeral home chapel at 1:00pm. If desired, donations to the North Eastern Cancer Centre (Health Sciences North) would be gratefully acknowledged by her family. Online condolences can be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com
