Daniel (“Danny”) Cameron
June 18, 1939 – October 16, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Daniel Cameron on October 16, 2024, at the age of 85 after a brief battle with cancer at the Nipissing Serenity Hospice.
Daniel met his beloved wife of 54 glorious years and the love of his life, Giuseppina (Josie) Cameron. Daniel was predeceased by his parents Viola Burkholder and John Angus Cameron, his sister Gail Patricia Davis (Jim), Orville Hooey (Laura), Bev Hooey and Art Hooey. He is survived by his loving daughter Diana Cameron-Jackson (Darren), his precious grandchildren Nicholas Cameron and Kaitlyn Jackson, his brothers Harvey Cameron (Gloria) and Cliff Charlton (Lyla). He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Santina Turco and Paola Turco. He will be missed by his fur babies Bailey and Buddy.
He was a very hardworking man who worked in construction for 55 years and helped work on countless projects around Ontario. He continuously provided and cared for his family, whom he always made sure to put first.
Daniel was known for his kind nature, gentle soul, and love of his family. He especially loved gatherings during special occasions with his family and in-laws James Jackson and Beverly Jackson (deceased). Daniel enjoyed fishing on Talon Lake and was eager to catch the “big one”. He also loved to relax and watch old movies and westerns. He always enjoyed going “out on the town” with his loving wife Josie to play bingo. Danny was always involved with his grandchildren’s sports and hobbies including track and field, football, and volleyball. He was always there to cheer them on and was endlessly proud of their accomplishments.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Rebekah King and Dr. Hailey Moore, as well as the staff at the North Bay Regional Health Centre and Nipissing Serenity Hospice for their amazing ongoing care and compassion during this very difficult time.
The family will be receiving guests at McGuinty Funeral Home at 591 Cassells Street, North Bay, on Monday, October 21st, 2024 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m.. Service to follow on Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024 at McGuinty Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m.
