North Bay Police Take $130K Drugs Off The Street
Police Seize $130,000 in Illegal Drugs
The North Bay Police Service has arrested and charged a 19-year-old male for drug trafficking and seized approximately $130,000 in illegal drugs.
The accused in this incident is James MODIMU, male, age 19, of North Bay, who is charged with:
- Three counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking
- One count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
On November 9, 2024, members of the North Bay Police Service attended a hotel on McIntyre Street West, North Bay, in response to a 911 hang-up call. As part of the investigation, police searched a room in the hotel in which the accused was located. While in the room, police observed evidence of drug trafficking. A search warrant was applied for, granted, and executed.
Searches by police resulted in the seizure of:
- Approximately 373 grams of suspected fentanyl
- Approximately 175 grams of suspected cocaine
- Approximately 20 5mg suspected Percocet pills
- Drug trafficking equipment
- Approximately $2,500 in Canadian currency
The estimated street value of the drugs seized in this incident is approximately $130,000.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
