North Bay Police Seek Assistance
Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating accused Martin Kearney
The North Bay Police Service has arrested a 60-year-old man on fraud and theft charges and is seeking public assistance in locating a 55-year-old man for related charges.
The accused in this incident is Joseph CORMIER, male, age 60, of North Bay, who is charged with:
- One count of Fraud under $5,000
- Five counts of Theft under $5,000
- One count of Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Four counts of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
A warrant has been issued for Martin KEARNEY, male, age 55, of Sturgeon Falls, for:
- Seven counts of Fraud under $5,000
- Seven counts of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Five Counts of Theft under $5,000
Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating accused KEARNEY. Anyone with information about his whereabouts should contact the North Bay Police Service at 705-497-5555 and ask to speak with Detective Constable Zachary Dagg.
Between June and October 2023, while employed at a North Bay business, the two accused are alleged to have unlawfully accepted cash payments for work and sold items for cash to customers without the knowledge of their employer. The cash received by the accused in these transactions was never provided to the business. The business is believed to have sustained a loss of approximately $9,000 in cash and approximately $17,000 in parts and labour.
