She is survived by her husband of 65 yrs Henry Herbrand. Dear mother of Susan Barker of Orillia and Doug (Sharron) of North Bay. Grandma Marilyn will be sorely missed by her grandchildren Ryan Herbrand (Julia), Taylor Herbrand, & Allison Barker (Alex Crupi). Marilyn is also survived by her sister Betty (Dick Draves) of North Bay and sister-in-law Rena Stewart also of North Bay. Marilyn will also be sorely missed by her nieces and nephews as well as her many friends and neighbours on Commanda Lake.

Marilyn retired in 1990 after a 15-year career working in various departments with the City of North Bay. She was also previously employed in the SAGE complex as well as Department of Highways and North Bay Collegiate.

After retirement, Marilyn fondest memories were spent with Henry at their home on Commanda Lake as well as their winter home in Florida. Marilyn was also thrilled to spend time with her grandchildren at the lake teaching them to swim and to enjoy all things away from their electronic devices.

Marilyn was a passionate, gardener, baker and seamstress and spent many hours knitting sweaters and other items for family and friends.

The family will be receiving friends at Hillside Funeral Services, 362 Airport Rd, on Saturday July 27th, from 1 until 3 pm with a celebration of her life at 3 pm followed by a reception at the funeral home.

Donations in memory of Marilyn to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice would be greatly appreciated by her family.
