ANELLO, Carmela (nee Galati)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carmela (Melina) Anello, on Aug. 4, 2024 at the age of 85, surrounded by her family at the North Bay Regional Health Centre.
Melina will be forever loved and deeply missed by her loving husband of 66 years, Rocco, her dear children Barbara Anello (Marino Boni), Vincenza Etchegary (Grant) of St. John's Nfld, Victor (Shannon) and Carmen (Carol) and her cherished grandchildren Daniel (Samantha), Samantha (Vik), Mikaela (Rob), Robert, Zachary, Davis, and Nico, and her great-grandson Luca.
She will be sadly missed by her brother & sister-in-law Vittorio and Barbara Galati of Georgetown, her niece Carmelina Nahirniak (Andrew), and nephew Dr. Vincent D. Galati (Jessica) and her sister-in-law Anna Anello (Pietro dec 2013), nephews Carmen (Louise) and Frank (Shannon), and niece Carmela Sheehan (Paul).
In Italy, she is survived by her brothers-in-law Franco Anello (Francesca), Pino Anello (Giovanna), and was pre-deceased by brother-in-law Vito Anello (Teresa). She will be missed by her nieces and their families.
She is also survived by many maternal and paternal first cousins of the Bartucca and Galati families residing throughout Italy and in Australia.
Melina was born on Nov. 12, 1938, in Filadelfia, Italy, to Vincenzo and Carmela Galati. She married Rocco in 1958 and gave birth to her two daughters, Barbara and Vincenza, in Italy, before they moved their family to Canada in the 60s, where their twin sons, Victor and Carmen were born.
Melina was a gentle and kind soul who was much loved and respected by all who knew her. She was a woman of faith with an unwavering dedication to her family.
The family will be receiving visitors at Hillside Funeral Services (North Bay) on Thursday, August 8th, 2024, between the hours of 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at the Pro-Cathedral (North Bay) on Friday, August 9th, 2024, at 10:00 am.
