GRAVELLE, Remi Leo
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Remi Leo Gravelle announce his passing on August 6th, 2024 at the Algonquin Nursing Home. Remi, in his 81st year, leaves behind his beloved wife of 51 years Jeannine (née Brazeau), his son Eric (Roxanne), his daughter Sonia (Rob), and his two precious granddaughters Emilie (Cohen) and Natalie.
Remi lived his life to the fullest, enjoying many fishing and hunting trips, playing hockey, and constantly working around the house building and tinkering.
Remi was a long-time barber in the town of Mattawa for over 51 years and also owned and operated the Champlain Theatre for numerous years. Throughout his life, Remi was involved in his community and sat on countless boards and committees.
Remi was the son of the late Wilfrid and Irene Gravelle (née Pellerin). He leaves behind his siblings Andrea, Fleurette, Monique, Roger, Judith, Chantal, and Gaetan, along with many sisters and brothers in-law, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family is grateful and thankful for the great care Remi received in his last days from all of the Cedar Lodge staff, as well as the doctors and nurses from the Mattawa General Hospital. Your compassion did not go unnoticed.
A service will be held at St. Anne's Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 13th at 11:00 A.M. A luncheon will be held afterwards.
If desired, donations to the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation, would be appreciated.
