Vernon Cyril Gebhart
April 1929-December 17, 2025
Passed away peacefully and naturally at Casselholme on December 17, 2025, in his 97th year.
Vern was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and lived his life defined by devotion, service, and love.
Born in Regina Saskatchewan April 12, 1929, Vern proudly served his country for 25 years in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) as an Airframe Technician. His dedication and skill were a source of pride, and his commitment to excellence left a lasting impact on those who served alongside him.
After retiring from the military, Vern embraced life’s simple joys. He was an avid fisherman who found peace on the water, a passionate gardener who nurtured beauty from the earth, and a loyal fan of baseball. He also enjoyed the camaraderie and fun of Bingo.
Above all, Vern was a devoted husband to Marceline Larent for over 60 years—a partnership built on love and unwavering support. Together, they raised seven children, and his legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were his greatest pride and joy.
Vern will be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humor, and his steadfast love for family. His life was a testament to resilience, generosity, and the importance of cherishing every moment.
Vern was a loving father to the late Monica Lenhardt. He is survived by children Steve Gebhart, Dennis Gebhart (Vivian), Colleen Bailey (the late Colin Bailey), Mitze Diggles (the late Mark McLellan), Cindy Gebhart (Monica Nimz) and Daphny Turcotte (Leon). Caring Grandfather to Jessica Gebhart, Amanda Lenhardt (Charles Rumsey), Devin Bailey (Jennifer), Jennifer Faulkner (Steve), Tara Bailey (Brian Denny), Trevor Diggles, Melissa Diggles (Claude Collette), Zachary Gebhart, Chase Turcotte (Taylor Hartwick) and Erica Turcotte (John Webster). He has left behind a lifetime of memories that will forever be in our hearts.
