Voo Doos MacMillan Honoured
The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) announced Monday that goaltender Anthony Zolezzi (Soo Eagles); forward Mathieu MacMillan (Powassan Voodoos) and goaltender Dryden Riley (Timmins Rock) have been named its Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week, for the period ending January 21.
MATHIEU MacMILLAN, (F) POWASSAN VOODOOS: Leading the Voodoos offensively, MacMillan scored three times and picked up one assist in two shutout victories for the Voodoos over Espanola and Kirkland Lake respectively last week.
The speedy 19-year-old right winger from Gloucester, Ontario started the week strong with two goals and one assist in the Voodoos 5-0 win over the Espanola Paper Kings in Espanola on Friday night.
MacMillan then added his 19th of the campaign in the Voodoos 5-0 road win over the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners giving him 19 goals and 27 assists for 46 points in 35 games this season.
Through his first 76 NOJHL games, MacMillan has collected 31 goals and 43 assists for 74 points.
