Voodoos dumped by Blues in semifinal

The Collingwood Blues scored four unanswered second-period goals as they defeated the Powassan Voodoos 7-2 in the semifinals at the Terry Geddes Cottage Cup Showcase on Wednesday night. 

 Youngsters Frank Popkie and Brayden Hanam scored for the Voodoos, who were down 3-2 after the first half of the two-period pre-season showcase contest. 

 Gunner Kirk scored twice for the Blues, with singles going to Nathan Omeri, Tristan Pitt, Tyler Crisostomo, Matthew Mirda, and Will Hughes scored for the Blues, who are unbeaten in the event.  

 Goaltender Dean Spry suffered the loss after making 31 saves.  

 The Voodoos, who are 0-4 at the pre-season event, will play in the tournament semifinal at noon on Thursday.
