Voodoos fall to Hurricanes

The Newmarket Hurricanes scored 6 unanswered goals in the second period en route to a 7-1 win over the Powassan Voodoos at the Terry Geddes Cottage Cup pre-season hockey tournament in Collingwood on Tuesday night. 

Tyler Brunet had the lone Voodoos' goal in the setback, which drops the Voodoos to 0-2 in the tournament.  

 Earlier in the day, the Voodoos opened up the event with a 5-2 loss to the Timmins Rock. 

 Voodoos goaltender Dean Spry suffered the loss, making 30 saves. 

 The Voodoos are back on the ice at 11 a.m. Wednesday as they face the Collingwood Blues.
