Voodoos ink Trappers star
The Powassan Voodoos stayed close to home for the organization’s first new player signing of the 2026-27 season.
The Voodoos inked 17-year-old forward Cedar Montreuil from the North Bay U18 AAA Trappers, the club announced on Monday.
The Mattawa product had a stellar season with the Great North U18 champs, netting 34 goals and and 25 assists totalling 59 points in 35 games last season.
“It feels great because growing up in North Bay, it has always been the goal to make it to the next level and play for the Voodoos,” stated the 5’8”, 172 pound forward.
Montreuil, has affiliated the past two seasons with the Voodoos. He has impressed the Voodoos staff not only with this regular season scoring but how he has been able to elevate his game in the playoffs netting 16 goals in 9 playoff games the past two playoff seasons in the Great North U18 Hockey League.
“Our organization is excited to sign North Bay Trappers Forward, Mattawa resident Cedar Montreuil,” said Peter Goulet, Voodoos head coach.
“Cedar brings energy every game and is a natural goal scorer.”
Montreuil will join his new teammates and prospects at the Voodoos summer prospects camp at Pete Palangio arena on July 4 and 5.
