Voodoos sign Trappers power forward
The Powassan Voodoos stayed close to home adding local 2006 birth year power forward Heath Bradley, the club announced on Friday.
Bradley, spent last season playing for Chippewa in the NDA high school hockey league while affiliating with the North Bay U18 AAA Trappers.
The 6’3”, 190-pound forward was part of the North Bay U18 AAA Trappers championship team from 2022-23.
“I liked Heath from the first day I saw him play,” said Goulet.
“He is a big strong young man that plays on the edge and is very hard to play against. He has the ability to give us some secondary scoring. We are very excited to have Heath join our team.”
Bradley, a multi-sport athlete who won gold at NOSSA in discus this spring, is excited about taking another step forward in hockey.
“Making the Voodoos feels like a payoff for all the hard work I have put in recently,” said Bradley.
“I hope to contribute by using my strength to win puck battles in the dirty areas, as well as using my work ethic to support the team.
“Playing with so many former teammates brings a sense of familiarity which helps build back our old chemistry. I am really excited for this upcoming season with both former and new teammates.”
The Voodoos travel to Noelville Friday, September 6 to face the French River Rapids, and then host the Rapids for their lone home pre-season game on Saturday, September 7 to wrap up the pre-season schedule.
