Waste Diversion Facility changing to Wed-Sat operations
Changes are coming to the operating hours at the Waste Diversion Facility, off Station Road.
The city says starting Feb. 23, the facility will be open Wednesday to Saturday (8 am to 6 pm) for all drop-off services.
That includes recyclable materials, household hazardous waste, and electronics, with staff onsite during all open hours.
Officials say the facility will no longer be open on Mondays and Tuesdays for unsupervised public drop-off.
It’s being done to help reduce the amount of contamination in recycling bins.
Council recently approved the changes.
