Waterfront attraction’s volunteer open house rescheduled

By Richard Coffin
An open house for potential volunteers with the Heritage Railway and Carousel Company has been rescheduled.

Originally slated to take place last Saturday, officials postponed the event to this coming Saturday (April 26) because of inclement weather.

The open house takes place from noon to 3 pm at the waterfront attraction’s souvenir booth and caboose.

“This is a great way for high school students to obtain their forty hours that he/she needs to graduate,” states a release.

Officials say another 12 to 15 volunteers are needed to fill out their roster.

The goal is to have the mini-train and carousels open for Mother’s Day weekend.
