Disturbance at Cassells Street and the Bypass
A North Bay man has been arrested after calls were made to North Bay Police Service (NBPS) in response to a disturbance involving a weapon.
On August 10, 2025, NBPS responded to calls regarding a disturbance at the intersection of Cassells Street and the bypass, where a male was reportedly brandishing a weapon in an altercation witnessed by several bystanders. Officers arrived promptly on scene, identified the accused, and took him into custody. During a search, the weapon in question was seized.
“Thanks to the swift actions of our officers and the prompt reporting by community members, this potentially dangerous situation was contained quickly, preventing further risk to public safety,” said Inspector McFarlane.
The accused, D’arcy Desjardins, 34, male, of North Bay, has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Causing a Disturbance
- Failure to Comply with Probation
The accused was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
