Welcome to North Bay event back

New residents to North Bay and those looking to learn more about the community are being invited to the ‘Welcome to North Bay’ event this weekend.
Several groups, including the North Bay and Area Local Immigration Partnership, the City of North Bay, the North Bay and Area Community Immigration Pilot and North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce are hosting the third annual event.
It takes place from 11 am to 2 pm on Saturday at the West Ferris Arena.
You’ll have the opportunity to connect with services, recreational clubs, places of worship, and social and volunteer groups.
“The Welcome to North Bay event is a great opportunity for recently arrived newcomers as well as those who have been here a few years to learn more about the services and organizations within our community,” says Grace Garcia, Local Immigration Partnership Coordinator. “We are excited and thankful to have our community come together and welcome new residents as they build their new home here in North Bay.”
Cultural performances and free children’s activities are also lined up.
“We are so pleased to come together to welcome new residents to our city and offer some connections to local organizations,” says Donna Backer, Chamber CEO.
Officials say the initiative is part of Welcoming Week 2025, which runs Sept.12-21, providing communities around the globe the opportunity to come together to build strong connections, affirm the importance of being welcoming and inclusive to achieve collective prosperity for everyone.
