West Nipissing mourns passing of former councillor
Flags have been lowered in West Nipissing after the passing of former mayor of Cache Bay and longtime municipal councillor Leo Malette.
Mayor Kathleen Thorne Rochon says Malette cared deeply about his community and worked tirelessly to make Cache Bay and West Nipissing stronger, more connected places to live.
She says she admired and respected him profoundly, noting his commitment, experience, and steady presence at the council table left a lasting impact.
Along with extending condolences, she say Malette will be remembered for his service, his leadership, and his deep love for this community.
