WILKINSON, James William (“Jim”)

WILKINSON, James William (“Jim”)

Jim passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at the age of 90 on April 30, 2026.

Jim was predeceased by his beloved wife, Anne, with whom he shared 57 wonderful years of marriage.

Although not a lover of working hard, Jim dedicated 35 years of service to the Canadian Armed Forces, followed by nine years working in the Canadian Arctic as part of the Distant Early Warning (DEW) Line. Though he might have said otherwise, his years of service tell their own story.

Jim will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Brenda Braunstein (Tony) of Oakville; his sons Derek (Jane) of North Bay and Brett (Dominique) of Cochrane; and his nine cherished grandchildren and one great-grandchild: Lee (Nicole & Wes), Adam (Maria), Georgia, Michael (Jasmine), Ryan (Kathryn), Kyle (Emily), and Jack, Sarah, and Luke.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the medical and support staff of the B1 Unit at North Bay Regional Health Centre for their exceptional care and compassion over the past year. Their kindness and dedication brought great comfort to Jim and his family.

 Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation (B1 Unit) or the North Bay food bank would be greatly appreciated.
