Winston Scott McMillan
With hearts heavier than words can express, we announce the passing of our precious baby boy, Winston Scott McMillan, who came into this world on August 3, 2026, and passed peacefully on August 8, 2026.
Winston was with us for only five short days, but in those days, he filled a lifetime’s worth of space in our hearts. From the moment he arrived, he was surrounded by immeasurable love. We held his little hands, memorized his precious features and loved him with everything we had. Although we would give anything for more time, we will forever be grateful for every moment we were given with our sweet boy.
Winston will forever be loved and remembered by his parents, Zander (Alex) & Taylor; his grandparents, Dawn & Brian Eckensviller, Doug McMillan, Tracy Patterson & Tiger (Mark) Berrigan; great grandparents Marguerite & Ken Randall, Dorothy McMillan and his aunts and uncles, Meaghan McMillan & Ryan Leclerc, Will Patterson & Maddy Garagan, Tyler & Melissa Eckensviller, and Jordahnn & Paul Stewart. He was deeply loved by his entire family, and his memory will remain in our hearts always
While our hearts ache knowing we cannot hold him here with us, we find comfort in believing that Winston was welcomed into heaven by his grandfather, Scott Patterson. We know he will hold him close and watch over him. Until the day we see Winston again, we find comfort knowing he is surrounded by loved ones who will love him just the same.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the nurses, doctors, residents, and specialists in North Bay and at CHEO who cared for Winston. Thank you for fighting alongside our boy, caring for him with such compassion, and doing everything possible for him. We will never forget the kindness shown to Winston and to our family.
Five days could never have been enough, but they were enough for Winston to change our lives forever. We will carry him with us through every day that comes next. His life was far too short, but his love and the place he holds in our hearts will last forever.
