Winter Bluesfest starts Thursday

By Richard Coffin

The Capitol Centre is shaking off the winter blues this weekend.

Winter Bluesfest launches with an event Thursday at Gateway City Brewery. It features music from North Bay’s Jesse Thomas Band and Sudbury’s Sean Poluk, giveaways and more.

On Friday, the Winter Bluesfest Shuffle includes nine artists and bands performing at three downtown venues.

A drop-in Bluesfest-themed life drawing session is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at the WKP Kennedy Gallery with the mainstage concert event that night in the Betty Speers Theatre.
