Winter weather travel advisory in effect

Winter weather travel advisory in effect

Monday morning into Monday evening.

Weather Advisory in effect for:

  • North Bay - Powassan - Mattawa

Environment Canada has issued a Winter weather travel advisory.

Reduced visibility due to a combination of snow and blowing snow.
Snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm. Strong wind gusts up to 80 km/h.

Monday morning into Monday evening.

In addition to these hazardous travel conditions, a sharp cold front Monday evening may lead to sudden whiteout conditions and a sharp temperature drop. A frontal snow squall warning may be required as the cold front draws nearer.

Due to the general high winds expected, these winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Power outages are also possible.

Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.

Avoid travel if possible. If you must drive, be prepared for areas of poor visibility.
