Yana Marlene Walter
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Yana Marlene Walter, beloved wife of Raymond Walter, and loving mother of Jessica (Colin), Lukas (Sandra), Tamara (Josh), Sarah, Matthew (Wanda), and Nanny to Clara, Jack, Norah, Yasmine and Ryan.
She lived her life the way most people only hope to, with her whole heart, and for the people she loved most.
She had found her way to the Catholic faith, embraced it fully, and it became the quiet foundation beneath everything she did. As a wife of 56 years she was a true partner, offering support, laughter, and loyalty through every chapter of life. And at the center of it all was her family. Not as an obligation, but as a joy. Motherhood was her calling, and she answered it completely.
She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures: family gatherings, fishing, watching nature, and the warmth of being surrounded by those she loved most.
She also had a rare gift for people. Not just the ones she loved, but everyone. She could sit with a stranger and walk away knowing their whole life story, and she would love them for it. She made people feel seen in a way that is hard to come by and impossible to forget.
The world was a little warmer wherever she went. And those who knew her carry that warmth still.
Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Forever in our hearts.
Our family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the staff at NBRHC for the compassionate care she received. Your kindness meant more than words can express.
