Year-over-year ‘stabilization’ with job postings
There were 586 job postings recorded in Nipissing District in June.
The Labour Market Group (LMG) says although that is a slight month-over-month decrease (-5.6%) from the previous month's total of 621, it is nearly identical (-0.7%) to the figure in June last year (591).
“This year-over-year stabilization provides continuing comfort that a downward trend in available jobs has slowed down or perhaps be over for Nipissing District,” states the LMG Jobs Report.
The top five hiring employers in June were:
- North Bay Regional Health Centre
- Near North District School Board
- Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l'Ontario
- Nipissing University
- Voyageur Aviation Corp
Health Care & Social Assistance was the top hiring industry followed by Retail Trade. Educational Services rounds out the top three.
