YMCA Fill The Bus
Donations to the YMCA’s Fill The Bus campaign are being matched to the end of the week, up to $15,000.
It’s thanks to the North Bay Youth Soccer Club.
The YMCA has partnered with the Rotary Club of North Bay for the fundraising initiative.
“The $275 donation gets a kid on the bus to camp,” says Nicole Beattie, VP of Philanthropy, Marketing & Communications at the YMCA. “We also make sure that children who attend our camp are really set up for a week of success. They’re going to get backpacks, shoes, bathing suits and towels, whatever they need to have a great week at camp.”
Thursday is Mike & Kevin O’s BIG Camp Adventure on 106.3 Jet FM and Country 90.5 FM CFCH, in support of the campaign.
The two morning show hosts are taking part in a day full of camp challenges.
“They’re going to be going around to all of our major sponsors and doing some pretty fun camp challenges,” says Beattie. “Our camp director has some surprises in store for Mike and Kev. They’re going to challenge one another. They might even get the sponsors involved to challenge them. It’s just really fun, friendly, community competitions.”
There’s also a free community pool party at the YMCA, from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm, gifted by NoahStrong.
Beattie says along with a free swim there will be roasted marshmallows outside, and a DJ too.
She adds that the YMCA is a charity, and no one is turned away due to financial circumstance.
