YMCA Fill the Bus campaign

Day of camp-related challenges supporting

Mike & Kevin O’s Big Camp Adventure takes place on Thursday as part of a community-wide effort to help more local kids go to camp.

The fundraising day of camp-related challenges, involving 106.3 Jet FM morning host Mike Monaghan and Country 90.5 CFCH’s Kevin Oschefski, is supporting the YMCA Fill the Bus campaign.

“The YMCA’s whole business model is built on never saying no to anybody,” says Monaghan. “If kids show up at the YMCA and don’t have a membership or the money for a membership, they’re in.  The same with the camps.  They don’t say no.  This is raising money to help them offset those costs and help send kids to camp.”

A kickoff breakfast takes place at the Y from 6:30 am to 9 am Thursday, with the two morning radio hosts then getting on a bus and venturing around the community for camp-related challenges.

“I have never won in all the years that we’ve done this so this is the year that I hope I win,” says Oschefski. “But most importantly the kids are the winners who get to go to a YMCA camp by people donating at fillthebus.ca“.

Donations help cover camp registration fees, essential supplies like running shoes and sleeping bags, along with equipment and site upgrades that make camp more accessible.

As previously announced, Century 21 Blue Sky Region Realty Inc. Brokerage and Chat4Chad are matching every donation to YMCA Fill the Bus up to $50,000.
