City continues expanding outdoor rink use to four seasons
The city says another six outdoor rinks are being enhanced to offer four-season activities.
They will include basketball or pickleball court markings and amenities.
Officials say the improvements align with the city’s Parks Master Plan, which identifies a need to increase access to court-based recreation across North Bay.

The enhanced spaces include:
· Circle Lake Park – two pickleball courts (with nets) and mini basketball court
· West Ferris Lions Park – two pickleball courts (with nets) and mini basketball court
· Graniteville Park – two pickleball courts (with nets) and mini basketball court
· Bourke Playground – full basketball court
· Greenhill Park – half basketball court
· Kinette Playground – half basketball court
“These upgrades are a great example of how we can make better use of existing community spaces to support active living for all ages,” says Councillor Justine Mallah, Chair of the Community Services Committee. “We’re giving residents more ways to get outside, stay active, and enjoy our parks throughout the summer.”
Earlier this month, the city announced a pilot project designating four outdoor rinks as off-leash dog areas.

The city adds when temperatures drop, these spaces will once again serve as outdoor rinks.
