DELEAN, Raymond

DELEAN, Raymond

Peacefully passed away surrounded by the love of his family at Au Chateau (Sturgeon Falls) on Thursday June 25, 2026, at the age of 86 years. Raymond was the beloved husband of the late Andrée (nee Vachon) Delean, and the loving father to Shelly (Richard), Carl, and Darren (Diane). He was the proud grandfather to his 8 grandchildren. Raymond is predeceased by his parents Lucien and Georgette Delean, as well as his siblings, Therese (Tess), Micheline (Mickie), Rollande (Rolly), Denise (Denny), George (Joe), Suzanne and Lucien.

Raymond was born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario and as a young man worked alongside his brother in the family dry cleaning business (Spic and Span). Raymond co-owned Delean’s Esso in Kenogami with his first wife Barbara and later with his second wife Andrée Delean. After over 40 years of managing Delean’s Esso Ray and Andrée retired to their home on Kenogami Lake. Andrée and Ray enjoyed company at the lake but also cherished their quiet life together enjoying the sunsets and caring for their numerous rescued pets.

Our father would want us to thank the numerous people who supported him in the years after losing his wife Andrée. Thank you to the personal support workers, the paramedics, the staff at BDR Drug Mart, the numerous Ontario Health at Home staff who all supported our father’s wish to stay home as long as possible. A special thank you to the neighbours of my father who watched over him, especially, his niece and nephew and their families who responded readily to any needs as they came up. A heartfelt thank you to the Extendicare Kirkland Lake staff and later Au Chateau staff for their kind and attentive care of our father.
Finally, Sue, Pete and Nina thank you for your loving care of our father. Our father and Andrée loved you. Thanks for watching over him.

As per Raymond’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family burial will occur in Kirkland Lake at a later date for both Raymond and Andrée. If desired, donations to the Advocates for Northern Animals at 3 Dunfield in Kirkland Lake would be gratefully acknowledged by his family.
