Enhanced mental health support focus of new partnership

A new partnership is providing mental health training and support to members of the Anishinabek Police Service and their families.

The police service has teamed up with Wounded Warriors Canada for the initiative.

Chief Jeff Skye says supporting the health of their members as they navigate the unique demands of policing is one of the greatest investments they can make.

Officials say services incorporate a blend of education, counselling, and training approaches, supporting resilience and recovery from post-traumatic injuries.

Scott Maxwell, CEO of Wounded Warriors Canada, says the partnership will strengthen their ability to support the psychological health and safety of those who keep First Nations communities safe.
