Jeannie (Jean) Heather Agnes McCauley (nee Vincent)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of, Jeannie (Jean) Heather Agnes McCauley (nee Vincent) on May 28, 2026, in her 84th year, surrounded by her loved ones.
Jean was predeceased by her parents Norman and Jean Vincent; husband Vince, and great grandchildren Logan and Delaney. Survived by her children, Wendy (Paul Brear), Valerie (Ivory Ball) and Allen (Valerie) and her treasured grandchildren, Tyson, Justin (Christina), Spencer (McKenzie) and Jackson (Abby) Brear; Olivia McCauley; Austin McCauley and Emma (Eric) McCauley-Giroux and great grandchildren Addison, Ella and Henry. She will be missed by her sisters, Brenda Stewart, Betty Wesanko and brother Rod (Nancy) Vincent. Jean leaves behind many nieces and nephews and her cherished friend Rick Johnston.
Vince and Jean moved from Deep River in 1962, living 64 years on Premier Road. Family was very important to Jean and if asked what she was most proud of she would say her children and grandchildren.
She was active with West Ferris Ladies Recreation and ringette. Coaching house league and rep teams, volunteering many hours supporting the sport. Jean also worked many years at Zellers until its closure in the early 1990’s.
Once the grandkids arrived, she could be found in the stands supporting them in their sport, be it hockey, football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, baseball, swimming or in the theatre applauding their acting performance or art exhibition. Their happiness was her happiness.
During Jean’s final days, many friends and family visited her, some travelling long distances for an opportunity to chat with Jean, which brought her much comfort.
A special thanks to the nurses, doctors and caregivers at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, for their exceptional care of Jean during her final days. Their compassion was immeasurable.
Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Friday June 12 for a Celebration of Jean’s life, beginning at 3 pm, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated (cheques only please).
