Local groups to enhance safety and security with provincial funding
Eleven diverse communities in the area are receiving funding to enhance safety and security measures.
Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing announced $82,000 through the Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Grant.
“The Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Grant continues to support and protect communities impacted by hate incidents in Ontario,” say Fedeli. “We will continue making necessary investments to support our community and will continue to work across government to promote diversity in Nipissing.”

Local funding examples include:
· $10,000 for OUTLoud North Bay
· $5,000 for The Muslim Society of North Bay
“This funding will help OUTLoud North Bay strengthen our security infrastructure, including enhanced member access systems, to better protect our volunteers, youth, and families,” says Seth Compton, Executive Director of OUTLoud North Bay. “In today’s rapidly evolving social and political climate, creating a space where everyone feels safe, supported, and welcome is now more important than ever.”
Imam Ainul Ahmad, President of the Muslim Society of North Bay is also grateful for the support.
“The funding has enabled us to make important security improvements to our mosque, including upgrades to our security systems, repairs to windows and entry doors, and other measures to enhance the safety of our congregation and facility,” says Ahmad. “These improvements help ensure that our members can gather for prayers, educational programs, and community events in a safe and welcoming environment.”
