Michael Lapierre

Michael Lapierre

After a courageous journey with heart disease, Michael Lawrence Lapierre passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on June 20, 2026, at the age of 68, surrounded by the love of his family.

Mike was the beloved husband of Brenda (née Laroche) Lapierre and loving father of Michael Lapierre (Robyn), Christopher Lapierre (Sara), and Nicholas Lapierre (Erin).

Affectionately known as “Coco,” Mike was the cherished grandfather of Conor, Kennedy, Porter, Cole, Zoe, and Lauren, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

Mike was predeceased by his brother, David Lapierre (Kim), in 2025, and by his parents, Lawrence and Shirley (née Dicaire) Lapierre.

He is lovingly remembered by his mother-in-law, Carmel Laroche (predeceased by Reg Laroche); his sisters-in-law, Cathy Skinner (predeceased by Fred), Lynn Boyd (John), Rosanne Everitt (Paul), and Angela Hollands (Mike); and his brother-in-law, Jim Laroche (Lil).

Mike will also be fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and colleagues whose lives he touched throughout the years.

Mike built a career through hard work, determination, and an entrepreneurial spirit. From hauling logs and operating trucking and pipeline businesses to leadership roles in the crane industry, his work took him across Canada and the United States. Retirement was never in his vocabulary. In time, he returned to where it all began, hauling logs, and doing what he loved until he was no longer able to continue.

Above all, Mike was devoted to his family. Everything he did was driven by his love for Brenda, his children, and his grandchildren. He took immense pride in his sons’ accomplishments, celebrated their successes, and was always there with encouragement, guidance, and unwavering support.

With his sons living in different provinces, Mike knew how precious family time was. No matter where life took them, whether in Corbeil, Kelowna, or Florida, he always found a way to bring everyone together. While working in Florida, he made sure their home was large enough to welcome the entire family, creating a place where memories could be made and cherished. Some of Mike’s happiest moments were gathered around a table filled with food, laughter, stories, and the people he loved most.

We will hold you close in our hearts and cherish the memories we shared. Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.

As per Mike’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be invited to gather and celebrate Mike’s life at a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
