Plenty of kittens up for adoption
Chances are you’ll have the pick of the litter if you’re looking to add a feline family member to the household.
With a steady stream of new arrivals expected throughout the summer, officials say the North Bay and District Humane Society is already being pushed to the limit with an influx of kittens.
“Kitten season is particularly challenging for us as the shortage of accessible and affordable spay and neuter services in Northern Ontario, combined with low awareness of the importance of preventing unplanned pet pregnancies, means a lot of kittens come into our care,” says Liam Cullin, Executive Director. “In addition to receiving large numbers of kittens at unpredictable times, many of them are unwell and require veterinary services as well as extensive support from our foster families.”

The Humane Society says it typically has approximately 20-30 kittens in its care at any point during the season.
That’s in addition to adult cats.
Cullin is encouraging cat lovers to come and visit the kittens and determine if they’re right for them.
