Suspect Arrested after Report of Weapon and Threats in Residential Neighbourhood
The North Bay Police Service (NBPS) arrested and charged a man after responding to a call involving an edged weapon in a residential area near Algonquin Avenue and Maplewood Avenue.
On April 28 at approximately 4 p.m., the accused approached victims in their driveway, leading to a verbal altercation between parties not known to one another. The accused allegedly brandished a knife and uttered threats before fleeing the area on foot. Responding officers located the accused nearby and arrested him without incident. A subsequent search resulted in the seizure of two weapons.

The accused, Dylan Laurin, 29-year-old, male, of, North Bay, has been charged with:
- Assault with a Weapon
- Uttering Threats to Cause Death of Bodily Harm
- Two Counts of Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Two Counts of Carrying a Concealed Weapon
- Disguise with Intent
“The Patrol Section responded to the call within minutes,” said Acting Insp. Long. “We remain committed to keeping our community safe. Violence in our neighbourhood will not be tolerated, and those responsible will be brought to justice.”
The accused was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
