The North Bay Police Service says a victim was abandoned in the 1700 block of Algonquin Avenue in North Bay on May 20.

They say a suspect vehicle was identified, and later that day two people were taken into custody after a high-risk traffic stop on Highway 11 in the Bracebridge area.

A subsequent search resulted in about $5,700 in suspected crystal methamphetamine, Fentanyl, cocaine and crack cocaine and a glock handgun being seized.

The investigation and search for a third suspect resulted in an arrest on June 25 in York Region.

Among the charges all three are facing include pointing a firearm.

City police say several of their own units were involved in the investigation and thank their policing partners with the Ontario Provincial Police Central Region, as well as the York Regional Police Service for their assistance.

“This investigation demonstrates the teamwork between police services that is necessary to combat this type of crime. Criminals do not operate within jurisdictional borders, and law enforcement interagency cooperation, teamwork, and communication are of the utmost importance when dealing with this type of multijurisdictional criminal behaviour in order to keep our communities safe, locally, provincially, and nationally,” says Inspector McFarlane. “Thanks to the quick response to the call for service and the strong support of our policing partners, three people have been arrested and are now facing charges. We thank everyone involved for their hard work and commitment to this investigation.”

Police say the three men were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
